What signs are you looking for?

In a short case/PACES exams, you'll have to come out with differential diagnoses based on physical examination alone, without taking any history!

Think of some differentials even before your start examining, look(see!) at the patient, look around.

Then categorise systematically, the signs you are looking for, based on the:

1) CONDITION ITSELF

2) AETIOLOGY

3) COMPLICATIONS OF THE CONDITION

4) TREATMENT RELATED

Example 1:

Bonus:
Examination of the hands/joints

1) look-feel-move approach

2) what are you looking/feeling for: PESW (PES World)

Pain(tenderness), Erythema(redness),
Swelling & Warmthness

3) Move(passive & active) to assess
loss of function/restriction in movemet (functio laesa!)
